Montara Action Plan
PTTEP AA began developing its Montara Action Plan (MAP) immediately after the well kill in November 2009 to address the root causes of the incident. The MAP focuses on short, medium and long term actions to embed the lessons and sustain the learnings from the incident in four key areas.

- Technical Systems
- Safety, Security, Health and Environment Culture and Management
An independent review of the MAP, commissioned by the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism (DRET), was undertaken by Noetic Group in late 2010. The review reported that the Action Plan had set PTTEP AA on the path to achieving industry best oil field practice and good governance.
Subsequently, Noetic have continued to monitor implementation of the MAP, undertaking four further audits with a final audit to take place in May 2013. All actions under the MAP were completed on schedule by the company by September 2012.
