Montara Incident

On Tuesday 3 November 2009 the leaking well was successfully ‘killed’ and the fire that had broken out on the well head platform two days earlier was extinguished.

This followed the uncontrolled leak of oil, gas and water that occurred at the Montara Well Head Platform in the Timor Sea on Friday 21 August 2009.
